R.I.P. - Dom DeLuise

Yesterday, we lost a great actor/comedian in Hollywood - Dom DeLuise.  I am very sad, today.

Mr. DeLuise could cover a wide gambit of roles from slapstick comedian to dramatic artist and still leave you wanting more.

I think my first movie in watching Mr. DeLuise perform was the 1980 sleeper, FATSO.  But, now in looking over his movie catalog, I see that I have indeed seen a great deal of his contributions to Hollywood:

  • Fail-Safe (1964)

  • Blazing Saddles (1974)

  • Silent Movie (1976)

  • The World's Greatest Lover (1977)

  • The Cheap Detective (1978)

  • The Muppet Movie (1979)

  • Hot Stuff (1979)

  • Fatso (1980)

  • Wholly Moses (1980)

  • Smokey and the Bandit II (1980)

  • History of the World, Part 1 (1981)

  • The Cannonball Run (1981)

  • The Secrete of NIMH (1982)

  • The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982)

  • Cannonball Run II (1984)

  • Johnny Dangerously (1984)

  • Haunted Honeymoon (1986)

  • An American Tail (1986)

  • Spaceballs (1987)

  • Going Bananas (1988)

  • All Dogs Go To Heaven (1989)

  • Loose Cannons (1990)

  • An American Tail: Fievel Goes West (1991)

  • Robin Hood: Men In Tights (1993)

I haven't really caught or remember anything more recently.  At any rate - you will be missed and I hope to continue to see great things from your sons.
